Louis Prima (1910-1978), a multi-platinum hitmaker, was unapologetically Italian American during a time when such proud displays of ethnicity were frownd upon. The exhibition examines Prima's New Orleans background and inspirations, his rise to success, artisctic prowess, and his role in shaping New York and Las Vegas. Visitors will get to see Prima's prized trumpet, Grammy Award for "That Old Black Magic", and rare photographs and other archives.
